How to Use Clock-In Location in Allison
Allison now includes a Clock-In Location feature to help ensure accurate time tracking and greater accountability for your cleaning team. This guide explains how to enable the feature, what your cleaners will experience, and how to configure the available settings.
What Is Clock-In Location?
Clock-In Location requires cleaners to be physically near the job site (within 1,500 feet) before they can clock in. This helps ensure that start times are accurate and tied to the actual job location. The system uses GPS to verify location, while also allowing flexibility in cases where GPS signals may be weak.
How to Enable Clock-In Location
Go to the Menu in Allison.
Select Settings.
Scroll to Scheduling & Clock In.
At the bottom, find the Clock-In Location section.
Toggle on Require cleaners to clock in on-site.
When enabled, cleaners will only be able to clock in when Allison verifies their location is within 1,500 feet of the job site.
Optional Setting: Allow Clock-In Anyway
You can also enable Allow clock in anyway.
If turned on, cleaners will see an option to clock in anyway when their GPS signal places them outside the job site radius.
This is useful if:
The cleaner is indoors or in a remote area with poor GPS signal.
Cellular service is weak.
When used, Allison will still log the cleaner’s current location for your records.
Cleaner Experience
First-Time Use
The first time a cleaner attempts to clock in with this feature, they’ll see a message asking them to enable location access.
They will only see this reminder once per month.
Clocking In On-Site
Cleaners tap Clock In.
Allison checks their GPS.
If inside the 1,500-foot radius, they’re clocked in successfully.
Clocking In Off-Site
If GPS places the cleaner outside the radius:
Without “Allow clock in anyway” enabled → They must move closer to the job site.
With “Allow clock in anyway” enabled → They’ll see a button to Clock In Anyway, and their location will still be logged.
Example Scenarios
Cleaner arrives on time and on-site → Clock-in works seamlessly.
Cleaner takes a break off-site → Must be within the radius again to clock back in.
Cleaner is at the site but GPS is inaccurate → Can clock in anyway (if setting is enabled).
Why Use This Feature?
Ensures accurate start times.
Increases accountability for your team.
Reduces timekeeping errors caused by off-site clock-ins.
Provides transparency, since GPS location is logged for every clock-in attempt.
Support
If cleaners experience issues with GPS or location accuracy, refer them to our Location Issues to confirm their device settings allow Allison to use location services.
