This feature is powered by Stripe’s secure, PCI-compliant checkout flow.
What This Feature Does
You can now send your customer a secure link that lets them:
• Add a new credit or debit card
• Replace an old or expired card
• Update their payment method before their next cleaning
Customers enter their card information directly through their secure link, and it updates automatically inside Allison.
Note: Add Payment Method links sent to your customers will expire in 7 days.
Requirements
Before using this feature:
• Your business must have Stripe connected in Settings.
• The customer must exist in your Allison account.
Once Stripe is connected, links will automatically appear in a few places.
Where Customers See the Add Payment Method Link Automatically
Allison automatically includes a secure payment method link in two email types:
1. Quote Emails
When you send a quote, the customer will see a line that says:
Payment: Securely add or update your payment method for this and future cleanings.
Note: This will only show up if you have Stripe connected. Otherwise, this section will not be shown.
2. Appointment Confirmation Emails
Every confirmation email includes the same secure link, making it easy for customers to update their card before the cleaning.
This means you don’t need to manually ask for card info or chase down expired cards. Customers can handle it in one click.
Note: This will only show up if you have Stripe connected. Otherwise, this section will not be shown.
How to Manually Copy the Payment Method Link for a Customer
Sometimes you may want to text or email the link directly. You can do that from the customer’s profile.
Step-by-Step
Go to Customers Profile Page.
Find the Payment Method section.
Click Edit (or Add).
Select Copy Link for Customer.
You can now paste that link into an email, text message, or chat.
What the Customer Sees
When your customer opens the link, they’ll land on a secure page where they can enter or update their card details. Once submitted, the new payment method appears instantly inside Allison.
FAQ
Is this secure?
Yes. All card information is entered directly into Stripe’s secure checkout environment. Allison never stores card numbers.
Can customers remove cards?
Customers can only add or replace cards. If a customer request for their card information to be removed, you must do that through your Stripe account.
Does this work for unpaid invoices?
Yes. Once a card is updated, you can charge any outstanding invoices normally.
Why This Helps Your Business
This feature reduces friction during scheduling, removes awkward payment conversations, and helps ensure you always have a valid payment method before a job starts.
